The purpose of this thread is to give fc members a quick reference on special quests/events, most of which will grant a unique reward or tell an entertaining story. This should also help to prevent the need to thumb through old patch notes. Everything from how to summon your chocobo to battle to how to apply the fc emblem on your clothes.

If you believe that I left something out that you would like to share, please feel free to add it to the guide. I only ask that you use the same format.

Notes: An easy quest, but it will have you visiting DoH guilds in all three cities. After you complete the quest, you can change your appearance in your inn room by using the summoning bell that you normally use to call your retainer. Also, please be aware that this quest will not unlock until you reach the main story lv. 15 mission, "Its Probably Pirates".

Notes: Maybe not a game breaking award, but you can obtain a rarely seen iconic Final Fantasy item in the online games. Use it or keep it as a personal trophy.

Title: The Rise and Fall of Gentlemen
Level: 50
Location/NPC: Ul'dah - Steps of Nald (X: 9 Y: 8 ) / NPC is Wymond
Reward: Namely the story. Although if your not a fan of the type of humor Hildebrand brings in, it may not be worth it. Oh, and a phoenix down.
Notes: The pre-req to do this quest is that you must have completed the main scenario in 2.0, that is you must have completed The Ultimate Weapon. There are four quests in total at this time. If nothing else, it is a nice change of pace if you get tired of crafting, leveling, running dungeons, etc.

Some new quests of interest for 2.2.

Title: Saw That One Coming
Level: 14
Location/NPC: New Gridania (12, 13). NPC is Eral
Reward: Harvest Dance emote
Notes: This dance appears to run on an endless loop.

Title: Good for What Ales You
Level: 14
Location/NPC: Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (7, 12). NPC is Dodozan.
Reward: Step Dance
Notes: This dance appears to run on an endless loop.

Title: Help Me, Lord of the Dance
Level: 14
Location/NPC: Ul'dah - Steps of Nald (10, 9). NPC is P'molminn
Reward: Ball Dance
Notes: This dance appears to run on an endless loop…I'm getting a feeling of déjà vu.

Title: An Ill Conceived Venture
Level: 17
Location/NPC: New Gridania (11, 12). NPC is Troubled Adventurer.
Reward: Venture 6. Ability to use Venture system.
Notes: Something to make your retainers more useful. You will find equivalent quests in the other two cities as well which will lead to a similar outcome.

Title: A Self-Improving Man
Level: 50
Location/NPC: Mor Dhona (22, 6). NPC is Wiscard.
Reward: Ability to use Glamour.
Notes: Glamour gives you the ability to look good and be functional.

Title: The Science of Deduction - Chapter 2 of the Hildebrand storyline.
Level: 50
Location/NPC: Eastern Thanlan (10, 16). NPC is Ellie.
Reward: Story
Notes: You will need to have completed the previous set of Hildebrand quests to gain access to the next four. As you progress through this set of quests, you will learn the Manderville dance, which looks unique, so if you want all of the emotes, be sure to play through.

Title: The Three Collectors
Level: 50
Location/NPC: Western Thanlan (13, 14), at Vesper Bay. NPC is Hildebrand.
Reward: A fun fight.
Notes: Although the plan was to limit mention of the Hildebrand quests to one per chapter, this one deserves special mention. The battle, which requires eight party members, is just plain fun. From green chickens that will attack you, to the use of spells which I thought I would not see in an online Final Fantasy game (I'm not positive, but I don't believe I have seen two of these spells, which I won't name here for fear of spoilers, since before Final Fantasy 6) The Battle on Highbridge is something to see.

Missed an interesting one that was added in patch 2.2. I was curious as to how to unlock the challenge log, and while fooling around on a mule, I ran across this quest.

Title: Rising To the Challenge
Level: 15
Location/NPC: Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (11, 10). NPC is I'tolwann
Reward: Unlock the Challenge Log
Notes: The pre-req to this quest is the Main Scenario quest "The Call of the Sea", which is the one right before "Its Probably Pirates"; the one that unlocks the first dungeon Sastasha. The Challenge Log is a valuable item in that as you clear the challenges, some of which (maybe all) reset weekly, you gain bonus exp for both yourself and your chocobo, bonus gil, wolf marks (for some pvp items or whatever), etc. An all around nice boost to your leveling efforts.

New Job for 2.3, Carrier. Details on how to unlock below.

Patch 2.3

Title: The Business of Betrothal
Level: 50
Location/NPC: Western Thanalan (X:13 Y:14) / Ellie
Reward: Primary reward is another Hildebrand episode. The final episode of this chapter, "A Case of Indecency" you do unlock the mini-game, Parley.
Notes: Parley is a nice little distraction, but Hildebrand and company is the main attraction. The next episode preview did elude to a potentially interesting encounter, especially if your a fan of a certain boss character in Final Fantasy VI.

Title: Of Errant Epistles
Level: 50
Location: Mor Dhona (X:30 Y:13) / Klynthota
Reward: Unlock the Carrier job!? Going far enough will grant you the title "Post Man/Woman"
Notes: This starts off a series of quests to fill in some backstory of several NPCs around Eorzea.

Title: Thawk-a-Mole
Level: 50
Location: Limsa Lominsa - Lower Decks (X:10 Y:11) / Deputy Postmoogle
Reward: Mini-mole minion.
Notes: One of the later Delivery Moogle quests, but this one actually gives you a minion as a reward. It can be a little tricky though in that you have to complete the quest "Doing the Dirty Work" to unlock it. "Doing the Dirty Work" starts in the Central Shroud in (X: 16 Y: 18); NPC is Marcette. "Doing the Dirty Work" has two quests ahead of it, both of which are started by the same NPC, Marcette. As an aside, poor little Mole having to go through all of that .

Title: The Adventure of the Fainting Goldsmith
Level: 34
Location: Upper La Noscea (30, 21) - @ Camp Bronze Lake. NPC is Rukusa Farusa.
Reward: Meteor Survivor Ring.
Notes: Came across this one while leveling Ninja. The ring itself has a unique design, and it gives a +3 to Spiritbounding (which admittedly I do not know if it is good or not for the ring slot for Spiritbounders). A link for those curious, http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/playguide/db/item/dad64812b4b/. Regardless, be sure to pay attention to the NPC text, at the very least the final NPC conversation. It looks like it was meant to foreshadow the Hildebrand quest line in version 2 and one of the NPCs relationship in the storyline. I think I would have just wrote him off as a goof ball who lost a loved one in the Calamity if I wasn't up to date on the Hildebrand quests already.

This quest does have two pre-requisites. You must complete both the main scenario quest "Lord of Crags", and then the quest "The Monster of Bronze Lake". The second quest is given by the same NPC as "The Adventure of the Fainting Goldsmith" above.

Title: Her Last Vow
Level: 50
Location: Ul'dah, Steps of Thal (12, 11). NPC is Julyan
Reward: Wind-up Gentleman, Manderville Coatee, Manderville Bottoms, Most Gentlemanly pose.
Notes: The final quest of the Hildebrand storyline in version 2.x. Quite a few fun rewards to use.

Title: I'll Be There For You
Level: 50
Location: N/A
Reward: Title "Gentleman" or Gentlewoman".
Notes: Given and completed after completing the last Hildebrand quest, "Her Last Vow".

Title: Thanks for Your Support
Level: 50
Location: Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (10, 11). NPC is the Deputy Postmoogle.
Reward: Star-spangled subligar.
Notes: Probably one of the more infamous items from version one. It was originally obtained from doing a couple of Fisher quests. This shiny piece of armor can be yours for completing the appropriate Delivery Moogle quest.

Heavensward Era

There seems to be a new series of quests called "Doman Adventurer's Guild Quests". I thought it was a nice series of quests and hope SE adds more in the future.

Title: Toll Booty
Level: 54
Location: Mor Dhona (22, 7). NPC is Rhesh Polaali
Reward: Story
Notes: You must have completed the Heavensward main scenario quest, A Brave Resolution (also at level 54) to be able to accept the quest. This is a nice enough opening act to this three part quest.

Title: Li'l Rascels
Level: 54
Location: Mor Dhona (22, 6). NPC is Yozan
Reward: Story
Notes: A bridge between the first and third episodes really. Sets up the conflict you will be working on in the next quest.

Title: Short Arms of the Law
Level: 54
Location: Mor Dhona (22, 6). NPC is Yozan
Reward: Story and your choice between three rank 4 materia.
Notes: I thought this was a very funny ending episode, although part of that may be because I was caught totally by surprise at the events (trying not to add too many spoilers). That lead villain does look familiar though, as someone whom I have seen "Adventures of" before. Can't wait for the next episode, or the next quest for that matter.

Title: The Paths We Walk
Level: 60
Location: Ishgard - House Fortemps Manor (6, 6)
Reward: Story and pre-req to unlock other quests.
Notes: You must have completed the Heavensward main scenario quest, Litany of Peace. This quest is a essentially a journey of remembrance similar to the one in 1.23 where you are visiting different people and places of importance in the Heavensward era. A nice recap of the events leading to this part of the story, however, the real prize is what you receive in the last quest of the quest line.

Title: The Burdens We Bare
Level: 60
Location: Idyllshire (7.5, 6.5). NPC is Slowfix.
Reward: The Haurchefant emote.
Notes: You must have completed the sidequest, The Triumphs We Share, which is unlocked by doing a series of sidequests that unlock after completing The Paths We Walk. I admit, I had not heard anything about this emote until after I had completed this quest. The emote has two parts to it, which I tried to capture in the pics below. The last leg of the quest will not tell you where to go, although given the clue and name of the emote, it should be clear. In case you have forgotten where the grave is located, it is at the Coerthas Central Highlands (X:22.4 , Y:7.9).

A little out of the blue, but I thought Zepla from YouTube provided a nice video that shows how to obtain all of the mounts in the game (at least through 5.1).
